Our story

The Founding

2019

3 october

After an intensive process of development, testing, learning, and adjusting, the business concept for people-centred information security became a reality. Just before the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Melvin’s VNTRS Consulting and Rudy’s Behaav merged to form Behaav BV.
Signing the contract and thus establishing Behaav in 2019.
First Managed Service Client

2020

3 july

During the COVID-19 pandemic and shortly after the introduction of the first managed service, Erasmus University Rotterdam expressed its confidence in Behaav. Based on a close partnership with KnowBe4, this marked the beginning of rapid growth.
A partnership with Erasmus University in Rotterdam, in which Rudy Spinola conducted a crisis simulation among students for the first time.
First Office

2021

21 September

The plans were ambitious – and the distance between Ermelo and Rotterdam was substantial as well. In the middle is the start-up/scale-up hub of central Netherlands: Dotslash in Utrecht. Amid like-minded entrepreneurs, Behaav took up its first office space.

First Employee

2022

1 Juni

As would happen more often later, the first employee joined the team. This marked the beginning of a rapid expansion of the staff. In teamwork, the vision of Melvin and Rudy continued to take shape.

The self-developed method ‘Bright’ was formalized and now belongs exclusively to Behaav’s intellectual property. The method combines deep cyber expertise with the power of data and psychological principles for a clear result: a measurable increase in security awareness and cyber-safe behaviour.

The magical milestone of 100 clients was reached in roughly three years, transforming the start-up from Utrecht into a full-fledged cybersecurity scale-up. With a great team, a clear approach, and enthusiastic clients, further growth is on the horizon.

Bright® - Behavioural Risk Insights

Assess

We start with an inventory of the main business risks and the role of human behaviour in them. Together with information about your employees' behaviour, we document this in a baseline information security measurement.

Educate

Based on this, we collaboratively develop a customized security awareness plan. This plan includes relevant interventions and a communication plan for each target group. Stakeholders are involved and receive feedback based on the security risks relevant to them.

Direct

Bright® makes behavioural risks visible through data, allowing us to make timely and targeted adjustments. Unacceptable residual risks are addressed with behavioural changing campaigns.

Sustain

We work with all organizational departments to create a sustainable culture of cybersecurity. This ensures that everyone actively contributes to reducing risks.
